The book of Proverbs expresses to us how the world would go if life were lived perfectly. The book of Ecclesiastes explains what usually happens in a sinful, imperfect world.
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; But time and chance happens to them all.” Ecclesiastes 9:11.
When you stomp your foot and say, “It’s just not fair!” There is always someone around to say, “You are right! Life is not fair.”
Life is not always predictable. Life is not always fair. We live in an imperfect world. But we serve a perfect God.
