“Develop your business first, then build your house.” Proverbs 24:27. NIV
If a farmer builds a house when it is time to plant, he will miss the planting season and lose everything. A businessman who invests his money in a house while his business is struggling to grow may lose both.
This Proverb is not about farming or any particular business, or even about building a house. It is about timing.
Have you heard the expression “Timing is everything”? The work that we do should be done in the proper order.
It is possible to work hard and still lose everything if the timing is wrong or the resources to carry it out are not in place.
“To everything there is a season.” Ecclesiastes 3.
Lord, please help us to know your perfect timing so that we may keep our lives in proper order.
