I picked up the shiny, deep red apple. I ran cool water over it and looked forward to enjoying the fruit. As soon as I took that first bite, I spit it out into the trash can. Instead of being juicy and sweet, it was dark and mushy. What a disappointment!
As attractive as the apple looked on the outside, the inside ruined the entire fruit.
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he–—” Proverbs 23:7.
Many spend time and money to make the outside more attractive, when what really matters is on the inside—–what is in the heart.
“....Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7.
