Good morning from The Garden!

I went to bed last night to the wild music of a violent thunderstorm—lots of intense lightening, noisy thunder, strong winds, and rain!!!

This morning I awoke to beautiful sunshine coming through the windows and hummingbirds circling around the patio.  The calm after the storm.

While the sunshine is welcomed, the storm reminds me of our Spiritual growth. Without the storm, there is no rain; without the rain there is no growth. We just remain the same—immature plants with no substance,

God allows us to grow in the sunshine and allows us to grow in the rain.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:24

“For this very reason make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance, and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:5-7

Through the storm and the sunshine we can then grow to be full and mature Christians, living and sharing God’s Word with others.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
