There is a reason that you should memorize scripture—This verse says it all:
“Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee.” Psalm 119:11.
When you keep something close to your heart, you embrace it, treasure it, and remember it. When you remember it, you can live by it. Then and only then can it affect your life.
“Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105.
These verses should be thought of as a pair. Each verse is needed to remind you that God can lead you all the time if you hold His Words close to your heart.
