Good morning from The Garden!

I have three umbrellas in my car, but very often I just don’t use them. I just speed walk and get wet.  I have a storm shelter to protect me from bad weather that comes my way, but it is no good to me if I don’t actually get in it. I have coats in my closet, but so often I just choose to be cold instead of wearing my jacket. I know this seems ridiculous, but never the less, it is true.

We often do the same thing when it comes to trusting God to protect us and shield us.

God is our refuge and our strength, but He can only protect us if we allow Him to.

King David knew what it was like to choose to be out of God’s will and out of God’s protection. He also knew the peace that he found when he accepted God’s way as the only way to find strength.

In David’s Song of Praise he proclaims these words:

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.” 2 Samuel 22:31.

God is waiting to help you, but first of all you have to take refuge in Him. Allow Him to do what He does best.  Remember my coat can’t keep me warm unless I wear it.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
