I love the award ceremonies that we have every year at the end of school. It is wonderful to see many recognized for excelling in academics or in sports. But most of these students did not work hard thinking that they would be recognized. They merely did their best. For everyone that is honored, there are those who form the team or who reached their own personal goals.
Most of the good deeds that you do for others will go unnoticed by those around you. They are not done for recognition or reward or even gratitude. They are done to spread the love of Christ to everyone. “Unnoticed on the earth, now in heaven proclaimed.”
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him,—-He will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance—-for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ ” Matthew 25:31a,34,35,36,
You will respond by saying, “When did I do all this? When did I see you, Lord?”
And the answer will be: “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40.
Continue in His good works and in His love. His recognition is all you need.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
