We are all shocked and saddened by the most recent act of violence in the small town in south Texas. Parents dropped their children off at school that morning expecting it to be another normal day. But it wasn’t and many families are suffering intensely because of the act of mad man. This was evil personified.—– We think sometimes, “Evil seems to be winning.”
This is the same way that Habakkuk felt in his day. He asks God when will he see justice for all the evil.
God answers:
“It seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day! Habakkuk 2:3. Living Bible
God’s answer to Habakkuk is the same answer he would give us, “Be patient! I will work out my plans in my perfect timing. I gave you a choice and sadly many choose evil.”
It isn’t easy to be patient. It isn’t easy to try to find the good in such bad situations, but it helps to remember that God hates sin even more than we do. Punishment of sin will certainly come. The reward for living within the will of God will also come from within as His strength carries us through each moment—-daily, yearly, eternally.
Dale Evans Rogers put it this way: “I see that trouble is simply a school. Some people work hard and pass test after test, gleaning much knowledge. Others give up and fail along the way.”
As God told Habakkuk, “Wait for it.” To trust God fully means to trust him even when we don’t understand why events occur as they do..
Have a blessed day!
