It is not very often that someone you have never met comes into your life straight through your heart. Paul Chinchen is one of those people. Until July 6, 2022, Paul served as chancellor of the African Bible College in Malawi, Africa. He founded the ABC Christian Academy, the ABC Clinic, and the African Business Institute. He and his wife Laura and their children taught the love of Jesus to thousands of children and adults.
Paul came into my heart as he and Laura welcomed my grandson and many other MRA students into their home in Malawi and gave them an opportunity to think of others through the eyes of Jesus. The children of Malawi were helped in many ways, but I know that these young people came away with a new love in their hearts and an appreciation of the blessings that they were given every day.
Paul Chinchen will be missed. There will be a big hole in the hearts of the African people for many years to come. He was 58 years old and he passed away on the very day Malawi was celebrating 58 years of independence.
He is the living example of the commandment that Jesus gave to His disciples and all of us before He ascended into heaven.
“Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always—even until the end of the world……” Matthew 28:19-20.
