Proverbs 23:25
“Because I said so, that’s why!!!!”
I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard these words. When mom said this, there was never any other explanation, nor did there need to be. Then something special happened. Somewhere along the way “because mom said so” became a vital part of my life. These words molded me in a special way. Many times I made good decisions because of words of encouragement and guidance that I had heard from my mom or dad. I never wanted them to be disappointed in me.
“May your father and mother be glad; may she who gave you birth rejoice.” Proverbs 23:25.
Just as we want our earthly parents to rejoice in who we are, we need to have a sincere desire to know that our Heavenly Father also rejoices in who we are.
Our Heavenly Father tells us in His Word how He wants us to be. His guidelines mark our path, and His expectations strengthen character.
“So I say live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature……….the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law....” Galatians 5:16, 22-23.
When we look up and say, “How do I know this is right for me?”
He lovingly answers, “Because I said so, that’s why!”
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
