Good morning from The Garden!

Some memories stick to us like glue.  This is one of them.

One day many years ago we had to make a trip to Texas for a memorial service for my uncle. My husband was driving; I was sitting shot-gun; my mom (92 years old) and my aunt (Just a few years younger) were sitting in the back seat. What made this trip especially memorable was the brand-new GPS system.

Now we have made this trip many times. My mom and aunt have been there even more times. So we all knew exactly where we were going, right?

This time we had to follow the exact directions of the kind lady on the car computer.
Mom would say, “I think we just veer right here and get on the freeway until we see our exit.”

The lovely lady on the computer would say, “Continue for 2.5 miles on Hwy”—then proceed with caution and then make a safe U-Turn, etc. etc.” You know the drill.

We finally made it to our destination after calling On-Star for the nice gentleman to tell us to get on the freeway and just watch for our exit.

Often in life we need good advice; we need guidance. Our private perspective is severely limited. We may be blinded by emotions or bias. We even heed advice from the wrong source.  But God places those in our lives who have gained wisdom from a godly life and from studying God’s Word.  When we are able to listen to others and remain open to their advice, we become wise and confident leaders.

“For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure.” Proverbs 11:14.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
