Do you know that a baby elephant weighs about 248 pounds? This is very impressive if you compare it to a full grown chipmunk that weights about 3-5 ounces. But it seems small if you compare it to a full-grown elephant that weighs 15,000 pounds. It is a matter of perspective.
Good is not always good enough! Think about it! We so often think that we are good because we are better in our actions than someone else. We might say, “I’m not perfect, but I’m better than most” Our measuring tape is manmade. We might be comparing ourselves to the chipmunk, not the elephant.
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” Romans 12:9.
We are striving to be the good God wants us to be, not what looks good as compared to someone else.
“....Live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” Colossians 1:10.
The perfection of Christ needs to be the only tape measure we use in our daily lives.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
