A Bible class was studying Nehemiah 8:10 “The joy of the Lord is my strength”
A couple in the class had lost their teenage son in a tragic accident. The teacher commented on the godly way that they expressed themselves through their pain and that they were an example for everyone around them. The father simply and profoundly said, “The joy of the Lord is my strength—You either believe it or you don’t.”
My friend has been going through cancer treatment. It has been hard and it’s not over yet, but she still smiles. She warms the hearts of others. She never calls attention to her stress or pain. She chooses Joy.
Happiness depends on what’s happening around you. God’s joy is deep inside and does not waver. This joy that God gives strengthens you through these happpenings.
“The joy of the Lord is my strength.”
Say it! Believe it! Live it!
