The rushing waves beating against the shore, the wind blowing the tall palm trees, the people laughing and playing on the beach, the birds chirping and roosters crowing, and of course, the noise of traffic and horns blowing (just like all cities)—these are the sounds that still ring in my ears after a week in Hawaii.
I loved Hawaii and was reminded everyday of God’s blessings and of the beauty of His creation. At times I felt that I could just sit and soak in the masterpiece that was all around me. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…….” Genesis 1:1.
As the waves rolled tall and white and spilled over on the rocks and shore with a loud crash, I felt happy and joyful. This sound made me think of a commandment from the book of Psalm:
“Make a joyful NOISE unto the Lord all ye lands.” Psalm 100:1
Webster’s Dictionary defines the word NOISE: A sound of any kind. For example: The only noise was the wind in the trees.
The scripture clearly states that we as Christians are to make noise. Not just any noise, but JOYFUL noise. Christians should be happy, caring, fun-loving, joyful! Even when things don’t go our way, and even when things are really tough, we are reminded to keep letting others know that we serve a wonderful Lord who guides our path and cares for us.
With the sounds of Hawaii still ringing in my ears, I say let’s get out there and make a noise that others will not forget.
I am glad to be home; I’m glad to be back with you this morning; and I’m very happy for the memories of Hawaii—-paradise here on earth.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
