There was a lighted Christmas tree and other outdoor decorations in my attic. They had been there for many years. When I pulled out the boxes to decorate my house for Christmas, I saw them. I thought, “They are doing no good to anyone stuffed in boxes here. I’m going to get them out and see if they still light up.!”
So I took the wire tree and other lighted stuff outside. Something wonderful happened! I plugged them into the electrical outlet and they all lit up. They had been useless for years, and as soon as I hooked them to the power source, they did their job.
God is our power source. When we distance ourselves from Him, we become useless and cannot produce His light that can shine on others.
Have you stored yourself away from where God wants you to be? Where do you seem weak or useless —-prayer life, Bible study, church connections, ministry to others, kindness in speech or actions—-wherever you are in your relationship with God, He never goes away, but you must plug in and use His source of power to light up your life.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1.
“Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging—-The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” Psalm 46:2,3,7.
God is our strength, but we must gather this strength fresh and new each and every morning. We must connect to His source daily.
He is not a temporary relief in times of deepest needs. He is an ever-present help always. No matter what goes on around us, we must have confidence in the strength and refuge of a loving God.
Connect today and feel instant comfort and strength.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
