We have all been told that you don’t really appreciate things until you no longer have them. Well, I think one of my least thought about blessings, is the blessing of good health. You know just feeling well doing normal things. Getting up in the morning and making coffee and enjoying the aroma and then drinking that first cup. This may sound ho-hum to you, but I did that very thing this morning and it felt wonderful.
I have been ill for several days and I have not been able to do anything normal. But you know, this morning is routine. I feel wonderful and I realize that I truly am thinking about all the things I do that each day that I take for granted.
So I’m feeling blessed this morning. It’s a good day. I’m listening and trying to sing along to Christmas carols. (Oh, by the way—total nothingness came from my voice for a couple of days–just thought I would throw that in there.)
My first great-grandchild is being born today and I couldn’t be a happier person.
So my message to all of you today is to embrace the day before you. Endure the time of pain, allow God to get you through it, and appreciate the time of ordinary pleasures that face each and every day.
“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends, with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. ” 2 Peter 3:8.
Merry Christmas and have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
