Well, a new year has begun. Children are getting back in school. Adults are getting back to their regular work schedule. I pray that all of you will find that happy balance between time with family and time at the work place.
God planned for mankind to work, but He desires that you place work in its proper perspective.
“In vain you get up early and stay up late, eating food earned by hard work; certainly He gives sleep to the one He loves.” Psalm 127:2.
Vain means “nothingness,” or “emptiness>” In this scripture Solomon was referring to people who overemphasized work and neglected valuable time for family, rest, and reflection.
You must work depending on God’s bounty, not on your own efforts. If you rely on your own efforts, building something, providing security, and raising a family will be in vain.
You will experience only what you can do, and will miss what God can do.
In the beginning God created for six days. but then He rested.
Enjoy your day at work and school, but make time to relax with others around you. Work and rest—–a happy blend!
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
