Good morning from The Garden!

Most of you know the story of Cain and Abel.  The first account of sin causing the life of another.  We know that God gave Cain an opportunity to master his own desires and to keep the door closed to sin.

Then the Lord said to Cain: ‘Why are you angry?  Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?  But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but YOU MUST MASTER IT.'”

Cain, however, allowed his anger to spill over onto his brother Abel. ——his choice.

Now Cain said to his brother Abel, ‘Let’s go out to the field.’ And while they were there in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.” Genesis 4:8.

James 1:13, “When tempted, no one should say, ‘God is tempting me.’ For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed……after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin……..”

Remember the first sin—–eating a piece of fruit did not seem so bad. Yet sin progresses. Adam and Eve sinned against God. Cain sinned against God and man.

When sin crouches at your door, don’t open it. Allow God to help you with those “little” sins before they mushroom into tragedies.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
