Good morning from The Garden!

It’s planting time for my farmers–a time to sow the seeds in the rows that have been prepared.

Back in the “old” days when there was no GPS system on our tractors, there was one good rule to follow when rowing up the land to prepare it for planting: Look straight ahead! The farmer would set his eyes on a tree or some other mark on the other side of the field and go toward that point.

If he looked around aimlessly, he would get off the path and his rows would be crooked; if he looked too close to the front of his tractor, he would waver and his rows would be crooked. He had to look straight ahead. He needed straight rows because the crooked rows made it harder later to plant and then even later, harder to harvest.

“Look straight ahead!” That’s what  you must do everyday as you face life’s challenges.

Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil..” Proverbs 4:25-27.

So many times the road you travel is rocky and rough, and staying on the straight path does not seem easy. You must keep your eyes focused ahead at the One who leads. If you look too close at your problem, you will waver and fail to depend on God’s leadership to solve the problem. If you look from side to side, your path will be waver and the distractions will clutter God’s answer.

You are never alone when you face tough times. God provides you with friends, family, mentors, and other relationships to encourage you along the way.

You [God] will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast.” Isaiah 26:3.

Every day each of us is asked to plant seeds so that the harvest of God’s grace can be seen in the lives of others. But first of all, we have to keep our eyes on Him and He will make the path straight.

“………In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight…” Proverbs 3:6b

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
