Excuses, excuses, excuses! We all make excuses when we really don’t want to do something.
Jeremiah was called by God to preach destruction to his own people if they did not turn back to God. He was only 19 years old and he just told God that he was too young.
God responded, “Do not say, I am only a youth, for you will go to everyone I send you to and speak whatever I tell you. Do not be afraid of anyone, for I WILL BE WITH YOU TO DELIVER YOU.” Jeremiah 1:7-8.
Isn’t it amazing how we all forget the last part of this command? We are often very much like Jeremiah.
We think we have to have the ability first, then do the Lord’s work. God says we only have to make ourselves available and He will provide the energy, strength, courage—all that we need.
When God is on our side, we know that we can win any battle. “They will fight against you but never prevail over you, since I am with you to rescue you.” Jeremiah 1:19.
Have a blessed day!
