Our nation is a nation of immigrants. Many came to America seeking a better life. I had a chance to visit Ellis Island several years ago. I was so moved emotionally by the stories of how determined the immigrants were to be here in America. They loved our country and wanted to be a part of something so beautiful. They learned the Pledge of Allegiance, became citizens, opened up businesses, and reared their children to love and respect this country—-“One Nation, Under God——
Today we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence.—-our independence as a nation, born of desperation and dedicated to our Holy God.
There is a reason that “In God we trust” is our national motto. It is printed on our coins; it is deeply engraved in stone on our federal buildings; it should be deeply engraved in our hearts.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance.” Psalm 33:12.
God has blessed America! May we never lose sight of the source of our blessings.
