Good morning from The Garden!

I’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to Easton, MD, a beautiful town on the Eastern Shore of Chesapeake Bay.  The area around was lush with the green of the corn and beans and other crops.  I returned home yesterday to fields that looked different.  The corn dark brown and dried up.  The combines were busy cutting the corn, the trucks were loaded, traveling on every road.  The fields were ready for harvest.

Although the Maryland fields were still green and growing, they will soon be just like our fields here at home—-brown and ready for harvest.  These fields remind me of the scripture in Ecclesiastes:

“To every time there is a season……a time to plant and a time to harvest.…..”  Ecclesiastes 3:2.

It is important for us to enjoy each stage of life as it comes our way.  Embrace the life that God has given us and acknowledge His strength to get us through whatever comes our way,

“It is a wonderful thing to be alive! If a person lives to be very old, let him rejoice in every day of life, but let him also remember that eternity is far longer, and that everything down here is futile in comparison. Young man, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it! Do all you want to; take in everything, but realize that you must account to God for everything you do.” Ecclesiastes 11: 7-9 (Living Bible)

Many choices are irreversible–they will stay with you for a lifetime.

What you do when you are young does matter. Enjoy life every day now, but don’t do anything physically, morally, or spiritually that will prevent you from enjoying life when you are old—-to every time there is a season….………Let us put God first place in our hearts today.

Our daily prayer: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer.” Psalms 19:14.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
