Many years ago my husband would suffer with leg cramps when he went to bed. Someone told him to put a bar of soap under his sheets and it would help. So he tried it and admitted that it worked. He slept cramp-free, until one night when the cramps came back. He realized that the soap had slipped off the bed.
I don’t understand the “why” or “how” of this action, but it worked.
Do you know what my husband did after this experiment? He kept a bar of soap with him when he traveled. In other words, he kept it close. He told everyone he talked to about it.
If you ever mentioned leg cramps to my husband, he would immediately tell you “you need a bar of soap.””
Now I am sure this is probably a laughable illustration, but it gives me two things to think about:
—–Although we do not always understand the “how” or the “why,” in order for God to do his work in us, we must keep Him close.
“—being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6.
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1
——When you have something good to say, you share it with everyone:
“When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them……..The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.” Luke 2:17.
This is the lesson of the “bar of soap.” Remember it and share it.
Have a blessed day!
