Good morning from The Garden!

“—-There is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.” Ecclesiastes 3:12.

To be happy and to do good while we live are worthy goals, but we can pursue them in the wrong way.

I have just returned from a wonderful trip with some of my family.  The mountains were majestic and the snow was a beautiful sight for me.  As I drove home after my flight, I noticed the flat land of Louisiana, the colorful changing of the leaves on the trees along the road and I was happy.  I thought, “It is good to be home and to appreciate the beauty all around.”

We can seek happiness through a vacation in another part of the country, another person, through a job or profession, through wealth and possessions, but we will never find true happiness until we have a proper view of God’s love for us.

God desires for His children to enjoy life. When we have a true relationship with God, then we discover that real pleasure is found in enjoying whatever we have as GIFTS from God, not as something WE accumulated.

In God, we have all we need, if we just trust in His plan for us.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
