Happy Valentine’s Day—A day for love!
We have really made this day a commercial blockbuster!! Gifts, cards, flowers, balloons, toys, jewelry, romantic dinners, etc.——
But a simple reminder of the best way to celebrate love is found in 1 Corinthians 13:
“Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong.
It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone, you will be loyal to him[her] no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him[her], always expect the best of him[her], and always stand your ground in defending him[her].
All the special gifts and powers from God will someday come to an end, but love goes on forever.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. LB
Love is not about one special day, but about each day we live. God reminds us in this scripture that life is not always about being loved, but more about being loving.
Beyond the gifts and fanfare! True love goes on forever!
“..…We love because He first loved us…...” 1 John 4!9.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
