If you tried to pour pure clean water into a glass already filled with dirty water, what would happen? The glass would always be mixed and not clean for drinking. Right? You first of all have to empty the glass and then fill it with the pure stuff!
When you are full of yourself, God cannot fill you.
When you empty your vessel of self, you leave a useful vessel for God to fill.
“If you give up your life for me, you will find true life.” Matthew 16:25
