Good morning from The Garden!

God has a wonderful sense of humor. I know because I can share my little story from years ago.

I left my home for church just as a thunderstorm was lurking overhead. I prayed for God to hold back the storm and keep me safe.

Before I reached the church, I looked in the mirror one last time to check my make-up–this is a woman thing–and I realized that I had on no earrings.

Now to a woman with pierced ears, no earrings is a very bad thing!!!

So I took a detour by Mom’s house to borrow some of hers. The rain was now coming down in torrents. I park very close to Mom’s car shed so I wouldn’t get so wet—–bad mistake. When I opened the car door, the rain washed in my car like someone had thrown a bucket of water straight at me. But I got the earrings.  Now, of course, I had to get back in my car the same way. Another bucket of water, only this time, I was trying to fold an umbrella as I got back in the car.

When I arrived at church as wet as a drowned rat, I laughed and heard God say, “I can take care of the storm, but I’m not sure what to do about your pride and stupidity!”

Pride does bring about arrogance and stupidity, but aren’t we glad that grace turns pride around.

But whatever I am now it is all because God poured out such kindness and GRACE upon me--” 1 Corinthians 15:10.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
