Each day is a gift to treasure, to embrace, and to enjoy. A day to make new memories, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem to be at the time.
No one person’s day is the same as another’s. Sometimes it is spent at work or at play. Sometimes it is spent with loved ones. Sometimes it is spent alone, reflecting on God’s goodness and on His beauty all around us—moments to treasure. Moments of making memories.
The words to an old treasured hymn come to my mind:
“Precious Memories….how they linger…
As I travel on life’s pathway,
Know not what the years may hold;
As I ponder, hope grows fonder,
Precious mem’ries flood my soul.”
I am thinking this morning about the loved ones who are no longer with us. The special ones that brought so much laughter and kindness to our lives.
I am thankful for the time I had to get to know them and love them and make memories with them, because it is those memories that flood my soul each day.
Memories help me to live in the “today.” And I cherish those who are around me “today.” We laugh, we cry, we play, we watch others play, we take pictures, we eat, we pray, and we appreciate each and everyone who touches our lives “today.”
“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth….” Proverbs 27:1
“Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today…” Hebrews 3:13.
Think about the memories you are making as you go about your daily routines, hold them close as they warm your heart, and then have a very blessed day!
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
