Good morning from The Garden!

On Friday Kendra, Betty, Aidan, and I climbed into a basket underneath a Hot Air Balloon.  (I guess you can say that I have scratched something off my 80’s bucket list.)  The truth is that we didn’t go Up, Up, and Away!  We didn’t tour the countryside. We just went up. The balloon was tethered by ropes tied to trucks. But we still had to trust the operator, the fire, the wind, and the swaying basket. We were a little nervous, but it was a good experience for sure.

But this adventure reminded me of a devotion that you will find in Di’s Devotions Volume II.

I think it’s fitting to share with you again.

A young paratrooper worried about his first training jump. “What if my chute doesn’t open?” he asked the parachute rigger.

The rigger assured him, “Don’t worry. It’s guarantied. If it doesn’t open, bring it back and we will give you a new one.”

Sometimes “almost perfect” is just not good enough.

And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him.” Hebrews 5:9.

In His perfection Jesus made room for us in our imperfection to see eternal life.

He prepared the perfect chute (or basket). All we have to do is accept it, and jump into the joy of life that only faith in Christ can provide.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
