Do you know with all certainly what you believe? If you are not completely grounded in Jesus Christ and confident that He was raised from the dead, and that He will return again, false teachers can sway you; false teachers can make you believe things that are not of God.
Jeremiah was sent by God to show the people the way that would help them follow God. The big problem was that the people listened to whoever had the loudest voice.
Jeremiah spoke God’s truth, but it was an unpopular message.
Hananiah told the people what they wanted to hear and they listened. “Jeremiah said, ‘Hananiah, the Lord has NOT sent you yet you have persuaded the nation to trust in lies…..’.”
There are false prophets in our nation today that stir ungodly beliefs—beliefs contrary to the commandments of God. As a Christian, you are commanded to “…love your neighbor……” but you cannot embrace the sin that separates you from the loving God who directs your path.
“The is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel says: ‘Do not let the prophets, and diviners among you deceive you……They are prophesying lies to you in My name. I have NOT sent them,’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 29:8-9
I pray that you can discard the false teachings. This you can strengthen your faith; honor God’s Word; and spread His love to those around you. You can make a difference.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
