This is quite interesting. We find in Proverbs 17:22, “Laughter doeth good like a medicine.”
In Ecclesiastes 7:3 we read, “Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is food for the heart.”
This seems very contradictory, but it should help us realize that life is a mixture of both happy and sad times. Both are equally a part of who we are. Even in sad times we can find laughter from the happy memories that are implanted in our hearts.
We can’t go thorough life expecting never to have sorrow or suffering, but instead we should see our struggles as opportunities to grow in God’s grace, to feel God’s love, and to witness His power to heal.
We often learn more from God through difficult times than through good times—maybe because we are then better listeners.
Happy or sad times? God is present to walk us through them all.
Have a blessed day!
