Looking out my kitchen window I see the big Oak Tree. I can remember when it was just a small seedling. It is now a majestic tree reaching up to the sky. This growth did not happen over night. It was gradual over 50+ years. But it never ceased to grow.
I can also see white mushrooms popping up everywhere. They were not there last night. It’s amazing how quickly they can grow.
Maybe in the beginning our faith parallels the mushroom. It is a sudden decision, a Spirit filled moment, or an emotional encounter. But this moment is just the beginning.
Faith is like the Oak tree. It has to be planted deep and continue to grow everyday.
Growth is adding to your faith every day:
“–-Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness, and to godliness, brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness, love. If you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:7-8.
Our faith grows beyond just simple belief. It is who we are and what we do every day.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
