Good morning from The Garden!

Verily, verily I say unto you, unless a man be born again, he shall not see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3.

Nicodemus was a Pharisee who came to Jesus in the night. He knew all about God and about His kingdom, and about the Messiah, but thought that all this it would be exclusively reserved for his people, God’s chosen ones.  He had a confused view of how and why the Messiah would come.

He had probably heard Jesus speak about it in an entirely different way and wanted to know more.

Nicodemus was searching and he believed Jesus had the answers.  (….seek and ye shall find….” Matt. 7:7)

Jesus explained to Nicodemus that being educated in the law and being born a Jew would not be his ticket to the heavenly kingdom.

God’s kingdom is personal “to all who believe,” not national or cultural or ethnic.
Salvation begins in the hearts of believers.

We are born first of the flesh which is mortal, and then by personal decision, we are born again into immortality.

“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living word of God.” 1 Peter 1:23.

Like Nicodemus, we must examine Jesus for ourselves—-others cannot do it for us.

When we believe He is who He says He is, then we will want to receive Him into our hearts.  Salvation is not because of what we have done; it is because of WHO HE IS.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
