Good morning from The Garden!

While reading about the horrible flooding in Texas, I noticed the comments from people all around our nation.  Most of the comments were prayerful and full of concern.  One reader commented on the saving of a child who clung to a tree for a very long time and said, “Thank you, Jesus for saving this little boy.  That was a prayerful statement said out of faith, but it triggered more comments like this:  “Jesus could not even save himself from the cruelty of the cross, how could he save anyone else.” “Why did Jesus save this one and not some of the others.” Etc. There were more who jumped on this chance to prove they were not believers.  It brought to my mind this verse from Jude:

“In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires. These are men who will divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.” Jude 1:18.

“The last times” is a phrase referring to the time between Jesus’ first and second comings.

We live in these times! We can always choose to see the miracles around us. But our life is temporal. Jesus is eternal

So many times we forget that God is forever faithful.  He does not think as we think, nor act as we act, nor see the present as we see it. He knows it all.  We can trust Him to walk us through all of life—-good and bad.

“But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. KEEP YOURSELVES IN GOD’ S LOVE as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.” Jude 1:20-21.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
