Good morning from The Garden!

I once had a plaque that stated, “A singer always prays twice.”  I have prayed twice in the last few hours.   I prayed for safety before the storm and I’m thanking God for protecting us now. — Praying twice.

But my prayer is also for others who were in the path of the storm and are still feeling the wrath of the wind and rain.  I know for sure that for the storm to miss our area its path took another route.

For so many the prayers were not answered the way they wanted and this is when we cling to the Holy Words:  “Lean not on your own understanding.”  You will never understand the things of this world, but you will always be able to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart……”    Proverbs 3:5.

Many families will face life without loved ones.  Homes that are destroyed will be replaced as people start over.  Many farmers will walk the fields and observe a year’s work destroyed. Businesses will try to rebuild. Clean-up will begin and life goes on.

The storm may rage, our situation may change suddenly, but God is the unchanging presence who reaches out to us to help us through.

“God is my refuge and my strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging………Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:1-3,10.

God is Supreme.

Pray for all who have been affected by this storm.
In Christian love,
Diane
