Good morning from The Garden!

In Mark 5:1-20 you will find the story about Jesus healing the man who was possessed by a legion of demons. No one really knows how long he had been in this condition or why it was so. He was certainly a tortured man and a fearful sight to any who had encountered him.

Make note of what the demons say in this scripture passage:

What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won’t torture me.“ Verse 7.
And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.” Verse 10.

Even the demons know that Jesus has power over them.

Satan is alive and doing his business in our world today. He would like nothing better than to control you or steal your joy in Christ. He works through your greatest weakness. He uses whatever has a hold on you or that controls your life in some way.

This becomes your own private demon. Maybe it is fear of growing old, fear of being sick, fear of losing financial security, or fear of losing a loved one.

Maybe your demon is an addiction to something—— pain medication, alcohol, illegal drugs.

Maybe you have a problem with promiscuity, anger, hatred, greed, envy. Maybe your demon is something in your past that bothers you so that you just cannot seem to let go.

No work of Satan is greater than the word of Jesus Christ. Christ has the power over Satan, and Christ can help you overcome any problems or weaknesses you may be letting take control.

It may seem like an endless battle, but no matter what demon tries to come between you and a loving relationship with God, and with others, remember this:

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
