Good morning from The Garden!

Life is urgent! We need to hurry up! Now that doesn’t sound too encouraging. Does it?

Most of the time we are told that we need to slow down. But think about this— We are created in God’s image to do good work. If this is so, then we have very little time to do all that God has planned for us to do in His name. We have been entrusted with His world to make it better than it was before we came through. He has strict commandments that we need to think about.

“Since an overseer is entrusted with God’s work, he must be blameless—not over-bearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.” Titus 1:7-8.

The “NOT” part of this scripture has to do with lack of control of self–a life out of control–a life spent controlling others.

The “MUST BE” part is to live as God intends for you to live. This means that you must have control of SELF–control your actions, control your mind, control your home, control your space, control your time, control your life. Now, all of a sudden, that seems like a lot of control. But it is good control. It simply means that you take the time to think through what lies ahead. You ask God for guidance daily to know what is to be done in His Name. Then you can follow the rest of the commandments in this verse.–“Being upright, holy, disciplined, and loving what is good” can lead you to a life that fulfills God’s purpose.

Start now and hurry up and let God take control of your life daily. You can have self-control and find the JOY that God desires for you. J-Jesus first; O-others second; Y-yourself last.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
