I read the other day about a Muslin woman who was insulted because there was a picture of bacon in the window of a restaurant. This advertisement obviously made her think of something that in her religion was a sin.
The next part is what shocked me! The owner of the restaurant actually took down the ad.
Temptation is all around us. I wish it were possible that everything that offends me and everything that is a sin against God could just go away, could be just taken down.
But temptation is a part of this world and will be around as long as mankind exists.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the Divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” 2 Peter 1:3-4
God gives us the power of His promises. The temptations may not go away, but we can overcome the those that surround us. We only need to depend on His Divine Nature.
