People rushed across America and into the Klondike region trying to find gold. Many risked everything they had—home, family, friendship—just find the gold that would make them rich.
Gold is a precious metal, but there is something that you can have that is worth more than gold. Gold can’t get you to heaven, but faith in Jesus Christ can!
“Your troubles have come in order to prove that your faith is real. It is worth more than gold.” 1 Peter 1:7.
Gold sometimes has dirt hidden in it. Fire can melt the gold. When gold is melted any dirt comes to the top and when the dirt is removed, the gold is pure.
Going through the fire makes the gold more valuable.
The troubles in your life are like the fire that purifies the gold. As you come through the fire, your faith is proven to be genuine and pure.
In all circumstances you can praise God for his loving care as he delivers you through the fire.
