Good morning from The Garden!

There is a little kitchen technique that I always use that prevents a mess on my stove top.  When I am cooking something quickly, I just place a wooden spoon across the top of my pan to keep the contents from boiling over.  The contents will bubble to the top and then rest on the spoon.  This serves as a warning that I need to turn down the fire, while preventing a boil over.

For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.” Matthew 12:34.(NIV Study application Bible)

The mouth sometimes needs a wooden spoon.

Jesus reminds us that what we say reveals what is in our hearts.  We need to check our hearts and check our  words over really well before letting them boil over, or should I say spill over onto another.

We, of course, can’t solve our heart- problem just by cleaning up our speech.  But it might be a start to letting the Holy Spirit fill us with new attitudes and motives. Our speech will be cleansed at its source—the heart.

But today let us think about the wooden spoon and try to prevent a boil over.  The world around us will have a better day.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
