“Above all else, guard you heart, for it is the wellspring of life.….” Proverbs 4:23
Many young people and adults took the first step in “guarding the heart” last night at a revival service——they gave their heart to Christ. He alone can protect it and give you life here and now and eternal life with our Heavenly Father.
When Christ owns your heart, He gives you a new song to sing……“And they sang a new song.” Revelation 5:9.
When Christ owns your heart, He gives you confidence to face controversy and trials…..”For God will be your confidence and will keep your feet from being snared.” Proverbs 3:26
When God owns your heart, He helps you choose the right friends….”Do not be misled, bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33.
When God owns your heart, He helps you to love yourself and the person that God made you to be. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Your words are wonderful..” Psalm 139:14
When God owns your heart, He helps you to love others…..”Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.…..” 1 John 2:10
When God owns your heart, He helps you to face each day with joy in your heart….”This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it..” Psalm 118:24.
So I leave today with this message to all Christians, young and old; new and not so new…..”Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid or terrified of them [of anything] for the Lord your God is with you, He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6.
When God through Jesus takes residence in your heart, everything changes. You are a new creature. May we pray that all will accept this gift of grace and eternal life that Jesus offers
