Before you make the promise, consider the consequences of breaking the promise first.
“It is a trap for a man to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider his vows.” Proverbs 20:25
Whether it is a promise to God or a promise to a friend, think before you make that pledge. This way your word can be trusted. Your “yes” will mean “yes” and your “no” will mean “no.”
Dedication to God first, followed by dedication and loyalty to others—–This creates a sincere bond with God and flows over to build a strong community of trust with others.
