Good morning from The Garden!

Have you been good today?” You have asked a child that many times I am sure.

Do you expect the answer to be “No, Ma’am”?

Of course not! You always want the answer to be, “Yes, I have been good.”

The truth is that we may try to be good, but it doesn’t always work out that way.

For I desire to do what is good but I cannot carry it out……”  Romans 7:8

God in His love for us knew that we would stumble. He knew that we cannot do the right thing on our own.

He loves us anyway. He sent His son to die on the cross so that we might have forgiveness for our sins.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives.” 1 John 1:8-10.

We don’t have to pretend to be perfect. The first step in faith is to admit that we are a sinner, after that we begin to walk hand in hand with Christ. We are not saved by our good works but we are saved to do good works.

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which He prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

Our faith should be reflected in our everyday lives, but when we sin, we can trust in the power of Christ to forgive us and help us to overcome any temptation.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
