“For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding—-. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. Proverbs 2:6,11.
God gives us wisdom to honor Him. He does not wish for us to drift through life acting irresponsibly with His gifts and resources. We gain wisdom through a constant process of growing. It is developed by using God’s truth to make wise choices day by day.
If we are faithful and keep our purpose in life (to serve and honor Him) clearly in mind, He will keep us from prideful hearts.
Discretion is the ability to tell right from wrong. It enables the believer to evaluate courses of action and to think about the consequences before acting. Discretion will protect you from the world around you, and understanding that God alone gives you wisdom will guard your heart and your soul.
“Understanding is the fountain of life to all who have it, but folly brings punishment to fools.” Proverbs 16:22.
