Good morning from The Garden!

The ole white glove test!

My sisters and I always had chores to do when we were growing up. Mom for some reason thought that the house had to be cleaned every day and the hard wood floors waxed every week. (They probably didn’t get waxed at all after we left home–proof that it probably was not a necessary chore at all—but I digress.)

When mom would come home, we would all joke to each other and say, “Here comes the white glove test; wonder what we missed!”

And, of course, she would say, “Were you going to dust mop under that end table?” or “You missed a spot of dust on the dresser.”

We laugh about this today, but it was our goal to see mom pleased. We realize now that she was just helping us to be proud of a job done well the first time.

Since the creation, God has given us work to do. If we consider our work to be an act of worship or service to God, our attitude would take the drudgery and boredom out of it.

We could then work without complaining and do a much better job.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Colossians 3:23.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
