Good morning from The Garden!

Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:37-38.

These words of Christ, at first, seem harsh or contradictory, but it is possible for Christian commitment to separate friends and loved ones.

As we take our cross and follow him, our values, morals, goals, and purposes will set us apart from others.

We should never neglect our family. Love of family is a law of God, but even this love should not be the first priority in our lives.

Christ calls us to a higher mission than just to find comfort and tranquility in this life. He calls us to “Carry the cross–” whatever that cross might be.

Our worldly relationships are temporal. Our relationship to Christ is everlasting.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
