Good morning from The Garden!

Two grandmothers sat devotedly at the ball field watching their granddaughter play soccer. Since it was 10:00 on a very hot Saturday morning, I, being one of those grandmothers, looked around for some shade.

The only shade I could find was the shade of my own shadow—a nice big shade, I might add. Guess what? I could not stand in that shade no matter how appealing it looked.

The Psalmist David also knew that he could not provide his own protection.

“I will take refuge in the shadow of Your wings until the disaster has passed.” Psalm 57:1.

Too often we allow self to become so big that we try to work, build, play, and survive on our own efforts and in our own way. We work in our own shadow.

When we step out of our own shadow and into God’s Light, we can then rest in the shade of His wings. We can then know that behind every shadow there must be a source of light. The light of our Heavenly Father is the only one that can truly give us comfort and peace.

Have a blessed day!

In Christian love,

Diane
