It is a fact of life that most of us will fight for survival, defending with all our energies that which is most precious to us.
God’s values are being attacked from every turn in our world today. Many people live in opposition to God and His followers, twisting God’s truth and trying to remove His influence from society.
In the book of Jude we find Jude’s message to Jewish Christians and to all Christians everywhere and in all times.
“In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires. These are men who will divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.” Jude 1:18.
“The last times” is a phrase referring to the time between Jesus’ first and second comings.
We live in these times! Since we live in these times, we must follow the rest of his advice also.
“But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. KEEP YOURSELVES IN GOD’s LOVE as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.” Jude 1:20-21.
We are to praise, worship, forgive, love, build up, show mercy, and witness to all people. But we are instructed to love the sinner (all people), but to hate the sin……..
“Be merciful to those who doubt; Snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.”
We are fighting for the survival of that which is MOST PRECIOUS—eternal life in Christ for all……
