Hebrews 10:35

Good morning from The Garden!

I recently went to the eye doctor and found out that I need to have cataract surgery on my eyes. My optometrist refered me to a specialist. On this visit the doctor explained exactly what he would do to “fix” my eyes. I listened and actually thought for a second,

“No way are you going to slice my eye.”

Then he said, “Trust me. I do this every day and have probably done this thousands of times in the past years.”

So I then said, “Okay, let’s do this.”

Right now as I await this surgery, I don’t know how much better I will see. But I do know that the doctor said I would see better, and I do know what others have told me about their experience and how much their lives were changed.

Can you see where I am going with this? —If we can have trust and have confidence in an earthly doctor, then how much easier will it be to trust a faithful God. How do you know you can trust him?—by what He has already done and by the personal experiences of others.

“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” Hebrews 10:35.

This scripture precedes the powerful chapter on faith–“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1.

Confidence in our faith means resting in what Christ has done for us in the past, and trusting Him for what He will do for us in the present and in the future.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
