Good morning from The Garden!

One beautiful summer day my friend and I I stood in line with hundreds of others to buy a sandwich. I looked around and noticed that everyone was just patiently waiting for their turn. No one was impatient—no one was in a hurry—-No one! One man sat at his table and prayed with his family. He blessed his food, and he offered a word of thanks that it had been served with such grace and kindness.

The people who chose to patronize Chic-Fil-A were not protesting anything, nor were they boycotting. They were simply saying thank you to a man who founded his business on Biblical principles many years ago. He said he felt that you should treat people the way you want to be treated.

So people stood in line—stayed in their cars and passed through the drive-thru—parked in parking lots blocks away and walked— and bought a sandwich. Thousands of employees did their job and served hundreds of thousands of people in an efficient and gracious way.

That’s the way it was on August 1, 2012.  The memory of this day is as clear today as if it were yesterday.

We find in Matthew 7:12 the Words of Christ: “Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.”

Even when you do not agree with someone on personal situations or on political views, you can treat them with kindness as S.Truett Cathy and his family have for over 70 years.  Chic-fil-a is not just a business, it is a ministry of caring for others that began with a chicken sandwich many years ago.

Have blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
